Bell, Book and Candle was a 1958 film starring Stewart, Kim Novak, Jack Lemmon and Ernie Kovacs. The soundtrack music was written and conducted by George Dunning. The music has been released several times through the years, beginning with an album in 1958 (Colpix CP-502).

The album received a review in Billboard magazine on January 5, 1959, but failed to chart:

A single by Morris Stoloff was also issued at the time of the soundtrack’s release (Colpix 103):
It was reviewed in the December 22, 1958, edition of Billboard, but like the album, failed to chart:
A very sought after Italian EP was also issued in 1959 by the trumpet playing Candoli Brothers, Pete and Conte, who portrayed musicians at the Zodiac Club in the film.

The record label also credits Jack Lemmon as playing bongo drums. However, it does not give credit to Elek Bacsik, the guitar player in the Zodiac band.
In 1979, the album was re-issued by Citadel (CT-6006):
The tracks were the same as those on the original album and also like that album were in mono.
The following year, Citadel found the stereo masters for the soundtrack and issued them (CTV-7006-S):
The first CD issued came in 2006 (Film Score Monthly FSMCD Vol. 9, No. 1):
