In 1998, Dan Roberts released an album titled There’s a Little Cowboy in All of Us (Old Boots Music).
One of the songs on this album was I Miss John Wayne. Although the song is mainly about Wayne, near the end Roberts mentions quite a few of his cowboy heroes, including Jimmy Stewart, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Johnny Mack Brown, Tex Ritter, Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, Bob Nolan, the Cisco Kid, Tom Mix, Buck Jones, Walter Brennan, Bob Steele, Ray Reed, Bob Crosby, Hopalong Cassidy, Gabby Hayes, Ben Johnson and Louis L’Amour.
