Reynolds was one of the many stars of How the West Was Won along with Jimmy Stewart. Besides acting, she also had a very successful singing career. In March of 1963, Dot records released a new single from Reynolds (45-16466). The a-side was the theme from her new film, My Six Loves. But on the b-side was A Home in the Meadow from How the West Was Won.
The single was reviewed in the April 20, 1963, edition of Billboard magazine.
A Billboard story that same week shows the record among the best sellers, but it failed to make any of their charts.
The song was completely re-recorded for Dot and is not the soundtrack version.
In May of 1963, M-G-M issued a single featuring two of the songs she had sung in the film. The record came with a picture sleeve showing her in costume for the film.
Here are scans of both the promo and stock copies of the record.
Cash Box reviewed the record in their May 18th edition.
Billboard reviewed it the following week on the 25th.
Like the single on Dot, this one also failed to chart.
M-G-M also released both songs on the album Raise a Ruckus, which was issued on their subsidiary label, Metro (535).
The album also had another song from How the West Was Won – What Was Your Name in the States?
