We Americans are not the only ones obsessed with Jimmy Stewart’s radio career. The British also issued a series of cassettes featuring shows from The Six Shooter series. The first of these was issued in 1996 by Hodder Headline Audiobooks (HH350).
This was a 2-cassette set, packaged differently than most U.S. sets. The plastic case was the same thickness as a standard cassette case, but it was twice as high so that it could hold the two cassettes one on top of the other. The actual dimensions of the case were 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″ x 7/8″.
As you can see, there were no titles on either the insert or the cassettes. The two shows on the first cassette were Rink Larkin and The Coward, originally broadcast in the U.S. on October 18, 1953, and September 27, 1953, respectively. On the second cassette were The Stampede (October 4, 1953) and Silver Annie (October 11, 1953).
