Jimmy Stewart recorded a 60-seond spot for the 1960 United Jewish Appeal. His, and messages by Jack Benny, Burt Lancaster, Jean Simmons, Robert Ryan and Cornel Wilde, were issued to radio stations on a 7-inch, 45 RPM record. While a copy of the original record has thus far eluded us, we do have a copy of Stewart’s spot thanks to the folks at the Aaron Mintz Radio and TV Archive at the University of Massachusetts. We share it with you here:

Welcome to our site
In 2012, our book "Jimmy Stewart on the Air" was published by BearManor Media. At that time the book was as complete as posible. Of course, since the publication, additional information has been located. The purpose of this blog is threefold: (1) update listings in the book with information uncovered since its publication; (2) provide information on new radio materials discovered since the book was released, and (3) provide the information of Mr. Stewart's recording career, a chapter which had been dropped from the original book. We believe that Jimmy Stewart fans will find the information to be provided here to be of great interest whether or not you have a copy of our book. Erna & Chas
