Singer, songwriter, Kurt Mahoney has crafted a very clever song around Jimmy Stewart and his films. The song, Jimmy Stewart’s Wings, is from his 2008 album, Where the Heart Is.
The song’s lyrics refer often to the “sound of an angel who got his wings, the night Jimmy Stewart died.” There are also references to several Stewart films, including Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, You Can’t Take it with You, It’s a Wonderful Life and Harvey. There’s also an indirect reference to The Greatest Show on Earth, when the lyrics speak of “circus clowns.”
Mahoney’s music can be listened to and purchased online from the usual downloading sites.
