Louella Parsons was the writer of a Hollywood gossip column for the Hearst chain, with her work appearing in more than 400 newspapers. She also hosted several different radio shows in the 1940’s and 50’s. Jimmy Stewart is known to have appeared on her program several times. One of those times was February 6, 1949. Here are two newspaper previews of the show. The first is from the Anniston Star, Anniston, AL, and the second from The Pantagraph, Bloomington, IL.
Although Stewart is not mentioned we’re also including this display ad from the Sun-Telegram, San Berardino, CA, which features a photo of Parsons:
At this time, her show was being broadcast by ABC between 9:15 and 9:30 p.m. on the east coast. Her sponsor was Jergens Lotion and the program was also known as the Jergens-Woodbury Journal and Woodbury Hollywood News.
