Yesterday, we looked at the Japanese single released from this album. Today, we’ll take a look at the album itself. Like the single, it was released on the Seven Seas label (FML-115) in 1979. The cover art was the same as that for the single with Stewart in the lower left corner.
The back of the jacket had the song titles and several photos from the film. Again, Jimmy can be seen in the lower left corner.
The labels were plain white with black printing.
Like many Japanese albums, this one had an “obie.” Obie means sash in Japanese and a paper one was wrapped around the left side of the album. It contains all the album information and price in Japanese, because much of the print on the jacket itself may be in English or another language.
The album also had a 4-page insert, with song titles, lyrics and more photos from the film. Stewart does not appear in any of these photos.
That Hometown Feeling
Thanksgiving Prayer
The Japanese album has another feature which is not part of the American LP. The audio for several of the scenes from the film are also included on the soundtrack album. Stewart appears in three of these. The first of these comes after the album’s first track, I Can’t Say Goodbye. The text for this and the other scenes is included in the lyric insert.
According to the insert, the next scene comes after the Banjo Song. However, you won’t find it there. Instead, it comes after That Hometown Feeling and is combined with the scene shown appearing after that song.
The final film scene with Mr. Stewart comes after the song Brass Rings and Day Dreams.
