As outlined in Jimmy Stewart on the Air, Mr. Stewart gave a very passionate plea for contributions to the 1946 March of Dimes Campaign. Alone before the microphone, he was able to give listeners a very good understanding of the costs of treating a child with infantile paralysis.
Most of the newspaper articles, like the one below, about that year’s campaign were simple and lacked many details.
The 13:30-minute program was delivered to radio stations on a 16-inch transcription disc (ND6-MM-3517) and was scheduled to be played anytime between January 14 and January 31, 1946.
