Mr. Stewart appeared on three documented Martha Deane shows as discussed in Jimmy Stewart on the Air. None of the shows is available.
The host of the Martha Deane Show was actually Marian Young Taylor. She hosted the show for 32 years on WOR-AM, in Manhattan. Her announcer was George Hogan.
Stewart’s first appearance came on January 24, 1947, when the program was airing from 3 to 3:30 p.m. each day. Here is the listing from the New York Times:
In Jimmy Stewart on the Air, we speculated that Jimmy may have been interviewed about It’s a Wonderful Life, which had opened in New York City a month before the broadcast.
It is also possible that he was questioned about the Radium Ball for the benefit of the Brooklyn Cancer Committee, which was to take place later that evening and at which he was to be a guest.
