Stewart’s appearance on this day’s Tex and Jinx Show has been confirmed by several previews. The first appeared the day before the broadcast in Radio Daily:
The second appeared in the New York Times on the day of the broadcast. There were actually two listings on the same page of the paper. The second adds some information about the program but also misspells Stewart’s name:
From the information in these listings, we can note that Mel Torme was also a guest on this show and that Johnny Guarnieri and his Orchestra supplied the music. A review of the July 2nd show which appeared in the July 12th edition of Billboard magazine mentions that Wesley McKee is the shows producer, Dan Seymour is the announcer and Tex McCrary is it’s writer.
Since the program is not available, what subjects were discussed during Stewart’s interview, are unknown. However, the following article from the July 16, 1947, edition of Variety, gives us a little bit of an idea of what was discussed:
