Just came into possession of the 7-inch, 45 RPM record containing four radio spots for The Magic of Lassie, the 1978 film starring Jimmy Stewart, Mickey Rooney, Pernell Roberts, Stephanie Zimbalist, Michael Sharrett, Alice Faye and many others.
The three 30-second spots all mention Stewart by name, but his voice is not heard on any of them.
The 60-second spot features a bit of Stewart performing That Hometown Feeling from the film soundtrack.
Several of the spots also featured Debby Boone’s When You’re Loved. The complete song is included on side two of the disc, making this a collectable for Boone fans. The song was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1978, losing to Let’s Dance from Thank God It’s Friday.
