Escape from Smoke Falls, sometimes known as Love Rivals, was broadcast on Sunday, November 15, 1953. As the show was ending its second month on the air, previews in newspapers were getting fewer. Most papers simply had the title in its radio listings. One exception this week was The Fresno Bee, Fresno, CA, which had a display ad for NBC shows which had a very short blurb about the show.
Stewart’s supporting cast included Jeanette Nolan as Grace Proudly, Frank Gerstle as Spud Hooker, Robert Griffin as Ray Tinsmith, Forrest Lewis as Dink Falk and Sam Edwards as Tom Leverett.
Britt stops at Smoke Falls to visit Dad Sommerset. While there, he’s asked to help bring in Dink Falk who has escaped from jail. Britt soon finds himself in the middle of a feud between two young men who both like the same girl.
