In Jimmy Stewart on the Air, we listed two appearances on radio station WMAL-AM (630) by Mr. Stewart. Both of these shows remain unavailable, but we can add a little information to what is known about them, including that fact that one was incorrect.
The first appearance came on August 24, 1951.
A closer examination of the newspaper listings would seem to indicate that this is actually a second, previously unknown appearance of the 15-minute Betty Crocker Show.
The Betty Crocker Show appearance was confirmed by this blurb found in the Wisconsin State Journal, Madison, WI, of the same date.
The second appearance listed in the book is for February 9, 1952.
There is no other indication in the newspaper as to what show this may be. If Stewart was interviewed on this program, it is a good bet that he talked about the film, Bend of the River, which would be released on the 13th of the month, just a few days after the broadcast.
