This 15-minute syndicated radio program starred Canadian singer-actress, Gisele MacKenzie and was discussed in detail in our book. We update that entry here with scans and audio.
The show was transcribed by the C. P. MacGregor and sent to radio stations on a 16-inch disc. Stewart appeared on Program #9.
The significance of the “June 19, 1950” stamped on the label is not known. It could have been placed there by MacGregor when the discs were sent or, it could have been stamped with the date when a particular station received or played the disc. The one newspaper entry for the show that we have been able to locate is from the October 24, 1950 edition of The Bradford Era, Bradford, PA:
Gisele herself was not involved in the Stewart interview. Instead it was handled by the show’s announcer, Rupert Lucas. The interview is mostly about the similarities between U.S. and Canadian pilots. In this “Cold War” era, cooperation between the two nations was stressed.
