The Jimmy Stewart Museum has recently come into possession of a new and very unique interview tape. It was recorded on July 11, 1979, shortly after the death of one of Mr. Stewart’s friends, John Wayne. The interview was conducted at the Stewart’s home in Beverly Hills by “Pete” Martin, a long-time writer for The Saturday Evening Post. Unfortunately, Mr. Martin passed away before the interview could be used to write an article for the Post.
The first part of the interview has been turned into the museum’s Podcast Episode #14 which is available here.
In his opening remarks, Tim Vanderburg, who hosts the podcast for the Stewart Museum, mentions a Saturday Evening Post 45 RPM record which also features Martin and someone faking Jimmy Stewart’s voice. If you haven’t read or listened to that post, you can find it here.
