On October 12, 1947, Jimmy Stewart made his one and only appearance on the Quiz Kids program. Joe Kelly served as the quizmaster for the NBC show. Five children, ages six to sixteen, were the panelists. They answered a variety of mind-numbing questions, usually correctly.
The show is not available and exactly what Mr. Stewart’s role was is not known, but from this preview he may have been acting as a substitute quizmaster.
Most newspapers carried just a very short notice about the program, like this one from the Wisconsin State Journal, Madison, WI.
We just recently discovered this photo in the May, 1948, edition of Radio & Television Best. Not only does it show Stewart, but also host, Joe Kelly, and all of the “quiz kids” who were on the program that day.
