Like The Big Sound series which came later, this was a series of 12-inch 33 1/3/ RPM records which radio stations bought and used to promote themselves on the air. The promos were recorded by music, film, TV and sports celebrities. These records were most likely issued in the 1950’s. Notice that the label specifies that they were to be played using a 78 (RPM) needle. Jimmy appeared on disc 4, side 2 of the Christmas Bonus set.
When V.I.P. Radio changed to The Big Sound, many of these same tracks were used for the new series. This was the case with Stewart’s ‘three day’ track. One small difference here is that Sue Raney delivers the other ‘three day’ message, while on The Big Sound disc that was done by Milton Berle.
