We recently found the following article on the WOW News Tower (Vol. 18, No. 3), published by Radio and Television Stations WOW, Omaha, NE.
Stewart is listed as one of the guests on the NBC program. The guests read famous poems and passages from literature. The show was hosted by David Ross. Normally, newspapers simply listed the show in a station’s listings at the appropriate broadcast time. The only larger mention of the show which we have thus far found is this one from the October 4, 1953, edition of the Albuquerque Journal.
Because the listings never mentioned the guests on the program, we may never know when Stewart appeared or what he read.
No audio for the show seems to exist. Even the NBC Collection at the Library of Congress has only one of these shows (October 4, 1952) and Stewart was not a guest on that program.
